Editorial & Cover Design

Created for MiraCosta College’s literary and art journal, this project included the cover design and supporting editorial pages, including the introduction, table of contents, section pages, and index.

The visual concept explores growth, transformation, and the creative process. Inspired by the tide pool—a place shaped by constant movement—the design reflects how change, pressure, and uncertainty can give form to something new. Crumpled paper became the central metaphor, evolving into a bird as a symbol of possibility, movement, and release.

The interior pages extend the visual language of the cover through typography, hierarchy, color, and layout, creating a cohesive framework around the diverse artwork and writing featured throughout the publication.
